助人的真正的目的是「助人自助」，是促使受輔導者邁向成長的目標，以解決問題，並增進面對危機的能力，其過程重於結果。因此輔導工作的推廣必須有賴於良好的專業教育與訓練人員，方能保證並提高服務品質。而訓練的素材與資料培養輔導員專業知能與專業倫理的重要引導。
