Oswald went with missionary Aidan as interpreter to lead his people to the Lord. Actor Robert Duncan tells the story of the remarkable King Oswald. The son of the king of Northumbria, he was forced into exile when his father's throne was seized. He became a Christian under the monks on the Island of Iona. He returned to claim his kingdom at the Battle of Heavenfield near Hexham. Now a convinced Christian, he determined that his people should be converted and called Aidan from Iona to found a mission on Lindisfarne, which became a powerhouse of evangelism. When Oswald fell in battle, miracles were straightaway attributed to his relics. Here is his story from the historic locations.
